Although it give many liberals hives to think about it, there are things where one answer excludes the other. That not everything can be true at the same time, and that you can't have your cake and eat it while simultaneously passing it out to the poor.
Believing you can fight a war without hurting anyone who shouldn't get hurt is the sort of thing that a child believes. Believing that you can go through history without ever fighting a war and still survive as a free nation is another.
If you have a war, somebody is going to get hurt that doesn't deserve it. That we have fought this war for two and a half years with as few civilian and military casualties as we have, compared to every other war in history, is a miracle of modern warfare.
There is a reason the Moveon Left and the modern Democratic leadership should never be allowed to control national security. They can't deal with it. They not only don't have the answers, they can't even understand the questions.
