First off, there are no parallel universes involved....

The author uses the term "parallel space". This refers to a change in the effective gravitational potential due to the presumptive drive effect.

The conclusion does not stem from a well documented path. It's almost hung out there alone with some tensor analysis guidewires, which is suprisingly sophisticated compared to garden variety quackery.
