I was diagnosed as dyslexic as a child, I compensated and can read fine. However there are some interesting and useful side effects... For instance, the 'word jumble' game in the newspaper can be interesting for me- usually I will read at least one of the jumbled words in its un jumbled form at first glance. I also kill at scrabble...

The art of anagrams is to come up with one that is applicable, that makes sense... I confirmed my reputation of being a really odd fellow at work when I was giving a presentation on how we solved a serious problem with the laser guide star. When I got to the part of my presentation where I detailed the root cause of the problem I said:
('slug' can mean a quantity of fluid)

...So the cause of the problem was that we were hitting the same slug of dye with two consecutive laser pulses- this caused the dye to degrade prematurely and caused our amplifier output window to burn. In retrospect the problem should have been obvious since 'laser guide star' is an anagram of 're-radiate slugs'....

I got a lot of odd looks and a few laughs, and several people missed my next few slides as they worked it out on paper.
