I appreciate you trying to drill into the conservatives thick heads that our war in Iraq has nothing to do with the real culprits of 9/11; but they were soo happy to know GWBush was avenging us for the 2,752 lives lost on that fateful day.
I don't think they'll ever be able to grasp that simple fact; or the fact the reason we went to war was for those god awful WMD, which of course weren't there. Well, then Sadam was bad (even we helped him to be bad), then it was "Mission Accomplished" which a whole bunch of Americans bought into and stood at attention for (their lips pursed and a tear in their eye for such a great war time president), and the list goes on.
Reporters trying to expose the corruption of the lost monies to rebuild Iraq end up dead or arrested (their materials confiscated), we get news out of Iraq only that has been chewed up and regurgitated with a fine spin on it, we can't see the bodies of our dead soldiers coming back, or the blood on ANYONE be they American or Iraqi....we're just subjected to "Shock and Awe" and people like Charles Graner and Lynndie England who took the fall for Rumsfeld and Gonzales, and the Vice President is still lying and okaying torture. Oh yeah, you can keep trying to educate this bunch; but they think YOU are the nut (the one with the problem).
And maybe they're right. Because they don't HAVE a problem with any of it. They are either too spineless or afraid to speak out or they somehow think that we can continue our endless aggression and that one day we'll come up smelling like a rose.
That we can kill any and all "terrorists". They think we can DO that. By bombing the crap out of them.
Amazing, isn't it?
So, save your breath. Go out and give your dog a bath. Enjoy the fresh air and start storing supplies and feel blessed that you live in the country. If we're all in this for the long haul; things could get real dicey.............
