Just don't aim one at aircraft or other vehicles. A coworker of mine is an avid amateur astronomer (he's sunk over $50K in his backyard observatory) who uses a green laser with his astronomy group. As far as I know, they're still legal. He also uses it sometimes at work. The green ones sure are brighter than the red ones.
