but how do you get rid of trucks and buses?

People got to get goods from point A to Point B or there are no jobs, no food, no fuel, etc...

In the USA and other wealthy economies, people could have separate vehicles for different purposes. (One large vehicle for trips to visit grandma with the wife and kids in tow) and small personal transportation for getting around town, to/from the grocery store, work, etc...A lot of 3 and 4 car families already do this, but not with "personal" transportation.

It could work, but you will never be able to completely seperate
