Headlines today. But we've become sooo "desensitized', we don't even know how to STOP it, let alone COMPLAIN.
Check it out.
A couple of years back when an energy company was fleecing the California consumers by creating phoney "black-outs and power surges" and artificially inflating the prices, the Governor of California screamed FRAUD! He asked the President to intervene and stop it.
Bush said no ("Let those energy executives live!")
Then came the secret energy meetings at Cheney's house (invitation only) at New Years a few years ago. He wouldn't allow the press to see his guest list, let alone what they were secretly planning.
Then along came Iraq.
Then along came ENRON.........and Ken Delay.
Harumph! The American way!
All those TEXAS OIL BARONS.
I filled up my tank today. There are no hurricanes. There are no shortages.
Yet I am paying a DOLLAR more per gallon than I was paying a couple of years ago.
And EXXON MOBIL records record profits, not only in this QUARTER, but for the whole year!
And where is George Bush and Dick Cheney in all this??
Could they possibly be profitting TOO???
>"ExxonMobil, the nation's largest energy company, today reported a 27 percent surge in profits for the fourth quarter as elevated fuel prices gave rise to the most lucrative year ever for an American company, with profits in 2005 reaching $36.13 billion and revenue $371 billion.
NOTE:" Exxon said its profits climbed more than 40 percent last year, while its tax bill rose only 14 percent."
Eat it up America! You're being had!
And you swallow this bitter pill by the very man who you think............PROTECTS YOUR BEST INTERESTS.....<ROTFLMAO>
