George Deutch: college dropout
It had earlier been reported that Deutch was a Texas A&M journalism grad. Not true, he was a student at A&M, and dropped out to work on the Bush campaign. Rather than returning to Texas to get his B.A., he instead chose to drop out of college and instead be appointed to supervise the writings and sayings of NASA's Ph.D. researchers.
Clearly, the Bush Administration knows how to pick a real role model for the nation's budding scientists: why stay in school and learn stuff, when you can use your connections to get appointed to a job for which you're utterly unqualified. After all, it's power that counts, not skill and wisdom. Sigh.
