Bilateral symmetry may be universal in life that evolves in a liquid.
You’ll notice that bilateral symmetry evolved in animals that swam. I believe this is because swimming sculpted this form. A streamline bilateral symmetry form is the best form moving through water. As sensory organs and fins(Which would become limbs) evolved, it was only natural you would get them on both sides of the head.
Therefore, I believe this form will be common throughout the universe where creatures evolve in liquid (Be it water, liquid methane, liquid nitrogen, liquid lead, etc…). Perhaps some alien creatures will evolve from fish forms that had two or three sets of eyes on each side of its head.
