Okay, one more comment. You liked my last sentence. It's important to realize exactly what it means.
It's why centralized economies fail, and decentralized, free ones succeed. Look at history.
A modern, multi-trillion dollar economy is an organism, not a machine, and no human being - Democrat, Republican, or anyone else - is qualified to "control" it. Imagine what you'd have to do if you had to consciously run every chemical and physical operation of your own body. This is what those advocating a centralized economy believe can be done to a nation the size of the United States.
Robert Reich thinks people like him should be operating all the levers of the economy. He's chock full of ideas and he sees lots of levers to pull. People like me think nobody should be operating the levers, especially since all the so-called levers connect to many, many things the operator doesn't know about.
Put another way, Democrats think their guys should be the gods, and we'd all be in trouble if Republicans were the gods. Too damn many Republicans think the exact opposite. We need more Americans who say "nobody should be the gods."
