Talk about black and white thinking! So the only two possible alternatives were invading or doing absolutely nothing??
While the sanctions and UN inspections weren't perfect, they had the potential for positive results - if the Bush regime was so unhappy with these routes, why not go to great lengths to improve them? Or look for other alternatives?
If the USSR could be broken up by (mostly) non-violent means, surely the same could be done to a puny country like Iraq, if the will were there.
