Let us drink from the fountains of Enceladus
Geysers offer opportunity to obtain scientific evidence on life
COMMENTARY By James Oberg, NBC News space analyst
Special to MSNBC // 1:22 p.m. ET March 9, 2006
The discovery of active water geysers on Saturn’s moon Enceladus is exciting on many levels. - I am guessing Enceladus keep supplies Saturn's rings with icy material. (n/t)
- Looks like that's not it: NASA's Cassini spacecraft may have found evidence of liquid water reservoirs that erupt in Yellowstone-like geysers on Saturn's moon Enceladus. (n/t)
- Not for drudge, apparently
- What forces the water out?
- My guess would be tidal forces, like on Io.
