Hi All
A major criticism of the quest for fusion power has been published and endorsed...
Fusion a non-starter
...which says basically what Tom Ligon said back in 1998 in his "World's Simplest Fusion Reactor" article - that neutron-heated tokamaks are a big waste of effort. It's not that it can't be done, but that the return is a lot less than the investment and the pain of maintaining a tokamak will be substantial. All that neutron activated metal and mucking about with hundreds of tons of molten alkaline metal... gee sounds like a fast fission reactor, which we know we can do and also provides virtually limitless power...
The only known working fusion reactor in this solar system can be tapped for a lot less money than building f***ing tokamaks.
