My son, just called me (Sunday, March 19) from New Orleans and he is digusted by the fact that absolutely NOTHING is being done at any level: City, State, or Federal, to help rebuild the city, or even to clean up the mess. He is down there with about 300 students from the OSU Campus Christian Crusade. While the students are working as best they can, Renegade sees absolutely no organized effort by any government agency. All he sees is devastation.

Since he was a tyke, I have been telling him how utterly worthless many of the various government agencies are, how they collect their salaries for doing nothing. Now he is seeing first hand that I was right. Aside from being able to build highways, hospitals, and run the national defense, the government (at all levels) does next to nothing. I told him, "You are now seeing government in-action." (double entendre intentional) Now he knows that I was right all along.

What he expected to see were trucks, equipment, cleanup crews, construction crews, etc. What he actually sees is NOTHING AT ALL.
