Well, that was $9 wasted- I should have expected it after the leftist claptrap of the first movie. In the first movie they celebrated the 'beauty' of a child being taken care of by a mammoth... obviously an analogy for the American taxpayer's growing dependence on the bloated monster that is the US entitlement beauracracy. And of course the 'Villain' in the movie was a pedator exercising his enlightened self interest. The 'dramatic' scene at the beginning of the first ice age movie where the mother leaps off a precipice with her infant rather than let the sabertooth eat her baby- putting aside the thinly veiled pro-abortion message in this scene, it is a well known fact that 1000's of babies died from other causes every day in that era... why should we concentrate on this one just because it was being attacked by a sabertooth? According to SabertoothBlog it is a demonstrated fact that the number of prehistoric infants killed per year by sabertooth cats was dwarfed by the number killed slowly by malnutrition and exposure. But the liberal media doesn't bother to tell that side of the story, does it? Death by sabertooth is a hell of a lot better than death by starvation!

Well, the sequel is no better, more liberal propaganda... in this one 'global warming' somehow causes the glaciers to suddenly melt (sound familiar?). This leads to a flood that the 'heroes' have to escape (an obvious reminder of Katrina). Along the way Manny the mastadon meets up and falls in love with Ellie, a female woolly mammoth who thinks she's a possum... (Can you say 'advocating alternative lifestyle choices'?). And of course there is that annoying little rodent that is always chasing that acorn that remains out of reach... aside from being eurotrash existential crap, I suppose its supposed to make us feel sorry for the have-nots that are to lazy and incompetent to succeed. I heard one little girl, crying as she watched the rodent chasing the acorn, shriek "Will someone PLEASE just give him the damn acorn?!"

Mission accomplished, liberal Hollywood... you have brainwashed a few more kids.
