An analysis of anthropomorphic animals in children's movies
Authors: I.P. Freeley, Ima Hogg
Comments: (Proc. Animaniacs Workshop, Water tower, Hollywood 20-21 October 2004)
We describe and summarize the use of anthropormorphic animals in cinema and their psychological effect on children. From Mickey Mouse to Manny the mammoth several generations of children have been exposed to the idea that animals can talk and act like humans. This has measureably affected the psychology of children well into their adulthood. We present evidence that Donald (pantsless) Duck has led many to be convicted of indecent exposure, and 'Curious George' has led to two US presidents.
