The Book First Man

Finally read it all!

Interestingly, the author admits the title would not have been Neil's choice as it sounds too biblical and Neil and Buzz did actually land on the Moon at exactly the same time.

Some very interesting thoughts by his former wife: he feels guilty that he got the acclaim for an effort of tens of thousands of people (afraid of making a social mistake) . Jim Lovell has a totally different personality; he would just not let it bother him (not like Neil).
Neil got some advice from Charles Lindbergh, however it might not have been a good idea as Lindbergh's flight was possible thanks to a small group of men while Apollo was a national initiative.

Almost 45 years ago, Kennedy said "landing A man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth"
Well, out of thousands , Neil Armstrong became that a man and it made him unique in the world but is man made to be so unique? Is it fair ? Is the system looking as well for scapegoats as for heroes a fair one?
Wondering....
