Current Events » in reply to Rummy's heckler

Since when is asking a question in a Q&A session "heckling"?

There were hecklers there, to be sure. I heard them. They were escorted out. Heckling occurs when someone speaks during a time specifically set aside for the person on the stage or at the podium to speak.

McGovern, the man who made the news, didn't speak out of turn. He asked a question during a question and answer session. That's a time set aside for members of the audience to ask questions with the expectation of receiving answers from the speaker. He was armed with follow-up documentation, quotes from Rumsfeld himself.

Rumsfeld said that McGovern should stay so he could (heh) answer the question. He didn't answer it, of course, but the world got to watch wonderfully artistic smoke-blowing.

Is asking a question of a Bush administration official during a scheduled Q&A session considered "heckling" if it's not a prescreened bootlicking question?
