Now that you've gotten the smear-the-messenger impulse out of your system, what about what actually happened?
I watched Rummy's news conference last night, on "Countdown with Keith Obermann" (MSNBC). McGovern quoted Rumsfield's words, and Rummy stood there like a deer in caught in headlights and categorically denied ever saying those things.
The show then proceeded to play the clips of Rummy saying those things in 2002 and 2003. McGovern was word-for-word absolutely accurate.
What Rumsfield really said flatout contradicts the revisionist spin the White House has been peddling. Our memories aren't faulty, they really did make absolute, flat, and certain claims of ties between Al Qaeda and Iraq and about the WMDs. Rumsfield really did say that he personally knew the specific location of something like four WMD plants and listed them by name.
What about the facts, gb? Any interest in those?
