significant differences actually

Despite instances of indiscriminate terrorism mentioned in your articles, I am sure the 19th century anarchists were more focussed on assassinations of major authority figures, eg. the Tsar, or a police chief. (These tactics were derided as counter-productive by the marxists and other socialists, who only believed in mass actions like the occupations of factories or general strikes.)

I seriously doubt the anarchists would have considered say, hijacking a train, packing it with explosives, and detonating it in central London or Paris. Bad enough as they were, they were still mainly interested in getting authority figures, not mass murder of civilians. Um, that is a very important distinction.
