As the war progresses, and more Democrats make their views known in Washington, it's become completely clear that had Democrats been in power in the past year or two, we would have surrendered in Iraq, and bailed out. The consequences of that would be obvious to any rational person.
In short, there is no guarantee of success with the Republicans running foreign policy under current conditions, but there is a dead-certain guarantee of failure with Democrats doing it. And that's the choice we're given.
