Attacking a country halfway around the world, using arguments that couldn't be supported (WMD) when Iraq was never a threat even to its direct neighbours, is a crime, just like this image:
The image is of a sheriff who holds a bandit at gunpoint, has him disarmed, and instead of trusting his deputees and his justice system, decides to shoot him. Sorry, but that sheriff (symbolizing the US under neocons) is a criminal and a coward.
Democrats have to try to clean up this disastrous image to gain their country's respect once again throughout the world.
Besides, I'm fed up with the argument about the US forces being stuck there. The problem is that it softens the act of starting the war in the first place. It wasn't justified and yet, now, it can't be corrected by any other way than to keep interfering with their internal matters.
Nobody is sure staying ot leaving will improve or worsen the situation. After all, weren't the neocons completely wrong about being welcomed as liberators?
War is indeed that: umpredictable chaos and a big chance to lose it.
The democrats would not have started it and therefore would not lose it either.
When will I look at the Stars and Stripes with the same feelings I had before 2002?
