The issue is not Santa's complexion...
it's about a community that feels so threatened, so victimized, so insecure in their own cultural identity that Santa's skin color is a subject capable of arousing political passion, self-righteous debate and indignant protestation. Yes, declaring Santa should be black is absurd, but nowhere near as absurd as finding that declaration personally threatening.
It's not a black thing, or a white thing. It's a gringo thing. In no other country in the world would there be a public debate on what race Santa should be. A plague on both your houses.
