Arafat's "intifada" was a pothole along a longer road. Unfortunately, upon taking office, Mr. Bush pulled off the highway at a roadside tavern and left the peace process behind. Upon getting back on the road - somewhat inebriated - he took the road to Baghdad instead of Jerusalem. That was a terrific mistake.
