They are turning Highway 59 into the I-69. I wish that had been there when I was in college driving from Houston to Nacogdoches.

That population map is interesting. From my own perspective I have noticed Houston has about doubled in size and population since I was a kid here in the 1970's.

In the 1970's they used to say Houston is the big city with the small town attitude and feel. I have not heard that in years. I rarely meet any fellow natives. Most people here are from somewhere else. The place has gotten too crowded for my taste. I am ready to move to a smaller town, but that is not going to happen any time soon.
