One great misconception is that drunks let you know how they really feel. Gibson could be rabidly or moderately antisemitic. Based on his behavior sober, he is certainly one of the two. Drunks can't be depended on for anything, much less an accurate reflection of their true feelings.

Amazing that he early on says to the cop "you have f***ed up my life" and then proceeds to make it as true as possible.

Over 50% of the population are unequiped to handle alcohol and are wasted by it's effect. There are probably as many people that can do drugs recreationally as there are people who can drink "socially". We fill the prisons with drug offenders for use only but the only way a drunk does time is by driving after drinking, and then only after a death or multiple offenses.

Of course we are not counting the many who serve time after committing violent crimes under the influence of booze.
