Pythagoras...yup...just about everyone should know that.

But the other three? They have no relation to ordinary life. I would not classify them as basic maths. Basic maths is being able to understand your gas bill, or check the interest on your bank account, or work out your fuel mileage. It's not 1/n sin x=...
