I'm talking about Trig, Cal, and Geometry in general.
Trig IS an advanced math and most people will NEVER use it. It isn't practical to the daily lives of most people. The most advanced math a majority of people use on occasion would be basic algebra, and then not on a daily bases. Our schools should focus on the fundamentals and what's practical. Basic math (percentages, decimals, fractions, conversions, etc) is all that should be taught in general studies. Leave the more advanced studies to those who will use them.
