Is it possible that the BBC tax has actually aided militancy among UK muslims?

Think of it this way. TV taxes lessen that number of tvs owned by a household. Probably each famiily owns a single tv. Put this in context of a muslim minority family. What do you think the family watches? probably an arabic or pakistani network.

Unlike the U.S., wherein most kids willl probably have their own tv. They will watch what their peer group in school watches. They will also play more video games. In other words they will integrate far better than they would in the UK. So it is quite possible that your BBC tax axtually has led to the militatancy of UK muslims; less integration with UK society and less outlet for the youth to expend their energy (video games).
