re: The Phoenix Lights

I live in Phoenix, and was sitting in my backyard with a friend during the so called Phoenix Lights.
As it happens, we sat through both events (The big flying Vee, and the “Amber Orbs” oooh, spooky)
We didn't see squat, mostly because we were having a great discussion, and, ok a few adult beverages.

The vast majority of people who get sucked in by this story, are not aware there were two separate and unrelated “events” about 3 hours apart.

The big flying Vee was first sighted near Prescott Az, about 75 miles NNW from Phoenix, and coincidentally the home of a well known, and respected Aeronautical University.
I remember channel 12 news interviewing the guy LJK is referring to. At the time, he was a kid (15-16) living with his folks in NE Scottsdale. He had the scope, (Looked like an 8”-10” SCT) set up on the patio deck. He noticed the odd formation of lights, and zeroed in. He matter of-factly described a group of Cessna type general aviation aircraft flying a Vee formation.

If you want to see the “Amber Orbs” just climb any peak in the Mountain Preserves, on a weeknight, between 8:00 and 10:00 pm, and look SW towards the Barry M. Goldwater Range. (Approx. 70 miles SW of Phoenix)
