But what will happen is not what should happen. It makes no difference to me personally, or to any of us here, we are all familiar with basic astronomical concepts. But the decision by the IAU will be interpreted by the general public and children as a change in scientific understanding, not just a modification of classification and nomenclature. It is inevitable that the result will be confusion.
