While I understand the uneasiness of some people that this topic is touching on psuedoscience, I agree with you, Phil. Your original post on bogus science is within the purview of this board, not least because NASA's involved, and subsequent debate raising some psuedoscience and the rebuttals all seem to me to be quite appropriate. RL might've gone nuclear and deleted the thread or moved it to OffTopic, but I think that it's a disservice to the board to dodge rather than confront the issue. An alternate way to define good science is to present and knock down examples of bad science, and I think that it's more effective to champion good science using examples of both good and bad than to try to present a censored happy-face picture of only the good stuff.
