Many of the most exciting and useful scientific breakthroughs over the history of mankind were considered "psuedoscience" or blasphemy at the time of their discoveries because the mainstream scientific community refused to accept that somebody outside their circle proved the impossible - possible. As you know, many of the most applauded discoverers over history were nearly put to death for their "preposterous" claims. The Earth is round, the Sun is the center of the solar system, etc.

I hope to God that mainstream science doesn't "win" here. I am not discounting all of the wonderful advancements NASA and mainstream science have contributed to our current technology, however the beaurocracy associated with it has kept us in low Earth orbit for three decades and dependent upon petroleum products with absolutely no reasonable scientific excuse.

Thank God for the true scientific discoverers who risk it all and push themselves to the edge in hopes of making a discovery that will benefit all of us.
