Empathy alone isn't enough to make the right decisions. Sometimes you need to use the front end of your brain, too.

Making decisions based solely on feelings, with an inability to apply intelligence and reason, has been the cause of much of the hell on this Earth, and its no coincidence that some of the worst atrocities have been committed by young people following a cause. The average age of the Khmer Rouge troops was 17.
