re: thinking again
It's called "thinking" for a reason. Thinking people see patterns of behavior, and previous actions that mean things. A large number of people arguing these subjects seem to believe that the world was created in January of 2001, and that the Cold War never happened. My memory goes back a bit further, and remembers what the same players and the same parties were doing under similar circumstances.
As far as "black and white," your pride in being unable to make distinctions, rational judgments, or develop any mutually exclusive logical thoughts might be a bit misplaced.
Moral equivalence is only one symptom.
