It's a simple question. It, and I, am amenable to a rational answer.

You define "moral equivalence" in your own manner, then. Or answer some simple questions.

"Torture" means "torture", and whatever the act, is it OK for George Bush and not OK for Saddam Hussein, even though done for the same reasons.

George Bush's agents have tortured people to death in the name of "national security". Saddam Hussein's agents did the same. Is it then reprehensible "moral equivalence" to say that both are heinous crimes and both people should be held accountable?

Very simple. Rational argument. Yes or no.

Hitler set up a puppet government in Czechoslovakia. Bush set up a puppet government in Iraq. (That it doesn't reflect the will of the people is evidenced by the fact it would collapse if not for US troops propping it up.

Both preemptively invaded a harmless country, using national security as an excuse. In neither instance was national security in any danger. Are you saying that to equate those invasions is "moral equivalence" and therefore bad.

Yes, or no.
