Heyerdahl proved the Inca could travel the Pacific, but wasn't so forthcoming with hard data that they had.
What makes you say they actually did?

PS the 'mega-tsunami' threat is real enough, but hard to prove. Presumably the victims would be unlikely to bear witness after the fact.
