Terrible idea.

Just look at how humans treat other, slightly different, humans and other species.

Then tell me it would be a good idea to be "found" by another form of technologically advanced life.

Our chauvanism leads us to believe they'd love us, share, etc. Nonsense.

And if we just established EM communications with them, it might be interesting, and take a lot of energy.

I think we're smart to stay right here, unknown, insignificant, minding our own business, even if rather poorly.
