The USA needs a National Health Service -- FAST!!
The cost of medical insurance has skyrocketed in the past decade -- up several hundred percent. Health insurers frequently spend 40% of their revenues on advertising, and 10% on profits, 10 percent on claims processing, leaving a scant 40% to be paid for patient services. If medical insurance were properly regulated (which it is not), the insurance companies would be required to pay 90% of their revenues for patient services and make due on 10% for costs and profits. Instead, medical insureres are getting absurdly rich while the working classes simply can not afford insurance. It is a national disgrace.
