More bad news

More bloatware news from Redmond.

While I don't believe Micro$ucks is deliberately choosing to force us to buy new hardware, this is a bit much.

Looks like us po' folk with older systems are going to be left in the dust, stuck with XP. Which ain't all that bad compared to earlier versions of Consumer grade operating systems (Mellinium! Oh the nightmares!) previously released. Never mind the constant stream of patches, updates and "Oh shit" news constantly making the rounds in the Biz. All of which have bloated the orginal 700+ MB installation to nearly 3 Gig n our HDD's.

Yeah Linux it ain't, but for the average consumer it's not that bad either.

Would I like to have a 3.2 Gig Dual Core CPU and 3 MB of ram with a Glitzy Vid Card? Who wouldn't?

But that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, ergo, I sincerely hope they don't abandon XP support anytime soon.

(And, TBPH, I am wanting to try one of the better Linux offerings, would run great on this antique.)
