Geek Speak » in reply to Geez, 4 of the 5 computers in my house are still on 98!!

Windows 98 First Edition Rocks!

I've got oodles of useful software too:

MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint), and Corel equivalents.
Ghostscript and Apple Laserwriter pdf generator, and of course Acrobat Reader
Mechanical Desktop, AutoCad, Truespace, Gimp, Polyview, DP Graph, OSLO
Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual C++ 6.0, Digital Mars c-c++ compiler
Power Archiver
Psychedelic Screensaver

Internet goodies:

Firewall, pop-up stopper, anti-virus, anti-spyware
Windows Media Player, Quicktime, Realplayer, DivX, Flash, etc.
CD-burner
Zip drive
Floppy drive
5 Mbps modem and nearly 1000 internet bookmarks

Games:
hundreds of C64 games (H.E.R.O. rules!)
Snood (effing addictive man)
Half Life
Demonstar, Intensity XS (awesome arcade style, downloaded from Mountain King Studios)
Kyodai (suped-up solitaire, not bad)

Why pay for an upgrade for new games. If I want graphics intensive video games, I just rent it for the Xbox. Yeah baby! Of course I'm a bit older now, and I like working with my hands, so I've got projects that aren't so computer-dependent. Jeez, starting to sound like a resume here.
