Responsibility

The US soldiers who raped and killed a 14 YO girl are responsible for their actions. The Iraqis who blow up other Iraqis and US soldiers are responsible for their actions. George Bush is responsible for his actions. The voters are responsible for their actions. The Somalians who killed US forces were responsible for their actions.

By your and Don's logic, the baker whose bread I buy helps to sustain the conflict in Iraq and has blood on his hands.

I'm afraid it just doesn't work like that.

This is where the left is so messed up. They give a free ride to the perpetrators of crime and turn them into victims. The Iraqis who kill and murder are murderers - it's that simple. They have no excuses for their actions. They are not victims of the US invasion. The victims of the US invasion died during the invasion. The others, like this 14 YO and her family are exceptions.

But likewise, you and Don are NOT responsible for this 14 YO girls rape and murder just because the soldiers who did it had a US flag on their uniform.

Knowing what you are responsible for is an important part of maturity. When folks take responsibility for their own actions, and don't point the fingers at others for things they didn't do - they have reached social maturity.
