Pretty much the way I see it.
The GOP has lost its focus in many areas, and the leadership appears to have become drunk on the excesses of power. A defeat could very well cause a refocusing and course correction for the party.
The only problem I see is with the Democratic party (under its present frame of mind) gaining the reigns of power. But to use a Star Wars analogy, when The Jedi became jaded and arrogant, it took the Sith coming to power to bring them back to their roots and true purpose.
