Trains
A tip. Ask for an "Access Coach". Travelling with a dog I have to sit there.
It's a lower area where some of the seats have been taken out so that wheelchairs can either be stored or people sit in them. It is open.
Having travelled last summer quite a bit on trains back and forth to trailheads and home, I can tell you it's the best of the train world. One can throw their pack down, lay out their pad, lay down, stretch out, scratch the dog behind the ears and sleep, read, etc. Or one can sit in their seat.
And there are plenty of extra seats if one wants to go upstairs and sit in a lounge, play cards, or eat.
