Space/Science » in reply to so much for the snowball earth?

No...

This doesn't change the observations or importance of Paul Hoffman's (no relation) Swowball Earth. That was still a demonstarated unusual time of intense cold across much of the earth. Whether it took place against a background of steady cooling, or a stable or even slowly warming background, it is still unusual - a sign that the climate machine got put out of kilter by something.
