re: Steamy Earth? How Come? Greenhouse Gas?

Why am I not surprised? Ohh, right, EU model posits that Earth/Veus were ejected in similar fashion in relatively similar timeframes from another body, possibly Saturn or some other body, at which point they both still had fairly thick gasseous atmospheres (Venus being the younger, probably, hence less etching on its surface), like Some of the other shrouded moons and planets may be similarly young... Having not had enough time for their atmospheres go be stripped away or thinned by other processes (plants converting CO2 to oxygen and food; CO2 being bound up in the ocean's cold depths, kind of like we've considered doing to eliminate our own waste products from industry; etc).

Anywho, I know most will give some pithy comeback like "Not even wrong," as if nobody's ever used that line before. Anywho, just so ya' know the Eu model has said at least for a fe wyears that early in its history, Earth probably looked and acted a LOT like Venus, even in terms of the amount of electrical activity (hence so many probes to venus lost). And we se the etching of the surface of Venus pretty prominently. If you haven't yet, download Nasa's World Wind program (if you have a compatible machine and a video card that works with it; most recent ATI/Nvidia do fine). Awesome little program, if you've got broadband. Plenty of scarring to be seen, which can pretty directly be compared with arc scarring and glow discharges...

Anywho, see thunderbolts.info for an alternate take on things. I know a lot of folks aren't interested, but they really do have a pretty good TPOD section with thougt-provoking article and comparison of a number of different astrophysical phenomena and astrogeology of similar forms. Granted it's slanted toward the layman, and light on physics, but it's that way intentionally, to make sure that whoever reads it can roughly grasp the concepts.

Anywho, just a thought. Consider it or don't. Just figured I'd point out that this was EXPECTED by the EU (Electric Universe) model. Seriously, go to thunderbolts.info and look up soe of their stuff on Venus and on various moons in the solar system (several articles make reference to parallels between the moons and Venus, and sometimes between venus and the early Earth). Good for a flight of fancy, if nothing else...

Cheers. & sorry I haven't been around much to provide entertainment... As I said once, I've already asked most of the questions I was interested in, but might pop in from time to time. All sorts o' fun.
