The only "success" in this effort has been to shovel money to Halliburton. EVERYTHING else has been crap, and it's because there haven't been the resources. Unless that was the "mission".
And now there can never be the resources.
And, Iran and Syria can bleed and bleed the US, every neutral Arab now sees the invasion as a Crusade, and the extremists have been empowered. They have the room to maneuver, the resources to cause trouble, and the support of the people.
By screwing it up, Bush has bred more terrorists than could have been dreamed of, found them more support than could be imagined, and much of the ROW sympathizes with them.
The only thing which should be obvious to everyone, regardless of political persuasion, is that the non-political generals were right, and that there weren't enough resources, including people, to accomplish the mission.
That is obvious. Unless you define the current mess as the "mission".

Look at the situation. Bush has energized every dingbat in the Middle East.
