Good thing Rummy's not politicizing the Pentagon

It's telling the way you conflate RightWing talk radio with official government information. Don't you think it's being a wee bit partisan to assume that the Pentagon's message must be aligned with the Republican message?

Whether or not a "Fairness Doctrine" someday reins in RightWing talk radio shouldn't have any effect on the Pentagon's propaganda machine...unless it's disseminating RightWing propaganda.

From the associations you're making I'd say that you do understand the problem, but you can't acknowledge it for partisan reasons. In just a few days we've had the defenselink.mil imbroglio, the "teams of people" developing "messages" for the "24 hour news cycle" to "correct the record" brouhaha, and the disclosure of the contract to perform psyops against the American people contretemps.

After learning that the US Navy had blacklisted Air America, I tried to look up the DoD regulations governing advertising purchases. Back when the Pentagon had a nonpolitical home page, there were abundant links to the policy and procedures libraries, the various responsible departments, etc. But after Rove's redesign, all I can find are public affairs offices and press releases and image galleries and in general everywhere, glowing testimonials to Rummy's wisdom and genius in Transforming the Pentagon. The Pentagon seems to have been kidnapped and is being held behind the walls of a fortress of partisan propaganda.

OK, if you want to insist that the Bush Administration isn't politicizing the Pentagon, go right ahead, but it's obvious to anybody not blinded by partisan rage that that's exactly what they're doing.
