I have to admit that, although I had some fundamental philosophical issues with telling businesses how they had to conduct their affairs, I voted with the majority to ban smoking in public places. My reasons on this one were pure greed and spite. First, I'm a karaoke hound and the only spot I can engage in that activity is smoky bars. Secondly, I've had enough smoke blown in my face by mindless smokers that I've lost all sense of compassion for their "rights".
I knew I made the right decision yesterday though when I was driving to school after work and saw the driver in the truck in front of me throw his finished cigarette butt out of his window and onto the street like the world was his own personal ashtray. I flipped him off and thought to myself that I just made his life more expensive and more of a hassle.
