Other than the threat of using the filabuster, I'm at a bit of a loss here on just when Mr. Reid used that tool during the Bush administration. You might want to check the statistics on how often the Republicans either threatened its use or actually deployed it during the Clinton years.

To tell you the truth, I could care less just when or where it's used, just that it remains a viable tool. It gives the minority this tiny bit of power to delay things long enough to stop a steamroller from a controlling and bullying party. During that time they have the opportunity to shine light on the abuse and bring it to the attention of the public. Ultimately it's the voters that decide.

My post was simply about the irony of how things turned out. I don't want to see the filabuster eliminated but I wouldn't blame the Democrats one bit for scaring the hell out of the Republicans with the same tactic they had looming over them.

While we're at it let's do a rating of lost time over the last 6 years. The ruling Republican party would claim that title hands down.

Come on guy. For a newcomer you have to do much better than this to play with the adults.
